Footnotes
JACK AND JIM got pinched back shortly after the start, continued through the first turn and up the backstretch off the pace along the inside, coaxed along through the far turn to split runners at the three eighths, launched a five wide bid at the top of the lane and took charge at the three sixteenths and drew clear. RAMBLIN' WRECK opted to trail for most, was roused about the second turn to take to the far outside at the quarter pole, showed an impressive rally down the lane but was held at bay by the winner. A LITTLE AT FIRST found a forward position four wide through the first turn, continued tracking the pace until being called upon at the quarter, fought hard down the lane but was out-finished. TERMINAL VELOCITY left the gate swiftly for a clear lead along the inside through the first turn, came under pressure for the run up the backstretch, continued to travel under pressure until grudgingly giving way at the three sixteenths pole. INSPEIGHTOFCHARLIE raced off the pace three wide, steadily advanced four wide up the backstretch, came under a drive around the five sixteenths and entered the stretch five wide but lacked the late kick necessary. CLEAR CONSCIENCE found a forward position three wide for the first turn, settled back around the middle of the pack for the run up the backstretch, continued between runners through the far turn but lacked a closing bid. SMOOTH BREEZE was forward between runners three wide until being pinched back midway around the first turn, continued off the pace between runners, shifted along the inside for the far turn and four wide for the stretch but came up empty. CABLE READY got in tight between runners in the first turn and managed to hold his position, stalked the pace up the backstretch and through the far turn but lost some ground turning for home, faded fast down the lane. SHARED SUCCESS was forwardly placed on the inside brushing with CABLE READY, continued to give chase until being urged in the upper stretch but was given no response. RABAJA was a bit fractious in the gate, lost rider stumbling out of the gate, walked off. A STEWARD'S INQUIRY WAS GIVEN REGARDING THE START AND RESULTED IN NO CHANGE.
