Footnotes
EARLY AND OFTEN was antsy in the gate, bumped soundly with rivals on both sides at the start, was rated in third position, ranged up in the three path to make a bid on the far turn, took the lead late on at bend, was put to a drive in upper stretch, dueled with the runner-up in the final furlong, bumped with that foe at the sixteenth-pole, fought on well to the finish and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. FIRE ANGEL moved in early, settled on the inside, waited behind horses late on the far turn, shifted to the three path while asked into upper stretch, gained to make a bid outside of the winner nearing the furlong marker, bumped with that foe while dueling into the final sixteenth, fought to the finish and was denied while clear for the place. CYBER BABY was rated off the pace with cover, moved closer in the two then three path on the far turn, bumped multiple times with DOUBLE MAX from the three-eighths pole to outside the quarter-pole, came out to the four path in the process, chased the top two while remaining on her inside lead into the final furlong, swapped to the proper lead inside the furlong marker and narrowly earned the show. MASS CONFUSION was away alertly, showed speed while moving in, prompted the pace on the inside of the leader, took the advantage at the seven-sixteenths pole, was headed just inside the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back under a drive in upper stretch and weakened. DOUBLE MAX bumped soundly with EARLY AND OFTEN at the start, settled off the pace, was urged along near the eleven-sixteenths then moved closer, advanced in the two then three path on the far turn, bumped with CYBER BABY multiple times late on that bend and lacked the needed response. SAY WALLAHI BRO broke in and bumped soundly with EARLY AND OFTEN, settled off the pace, dropped back under urging with a half-mile to run, went around most of the far turn in the two path then shifted to the four path, moved out outside the sixteenth-pole and failed to rally. LUNA DANCER moved in early, was rated outside in the second flight, came out completely from behind cover outside the five-eighths pole, was asked in the four path on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the five path and came up empty. SURPRISE AUDIT settled at the rear, saved ground on the far turn and failed to threaten. FRESHLY MINTED angled in while showing speed then set the pace on the outside, was asked in the two path on the far turn, lost the lead at the seven-sixteenths pole, dropped back into the stretch and faded.
