Footnotes
BLAZING TIGER dropped back on the outside early, tried to tuck in outside the five-eighths pole but was carried out by DOUBTING THOMAS, moved in behind horses near the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground under tight restraint on the turn, waited while full of run in the three path into the stretch, moved out and was asked then split foes at the three-sixteenths pole, brushed with ATTFIELD while rallying into the final furlong, closed strongly to make a bid outside the sixteenth-pole, battled inside of the runner-up to the finish and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. DOUBTING THOMAS dropped off the pace, moved out outside the five-eighths pole, rounded the turn in the three path, shifted to the five path into the stretch, rallied outside to make a bid near the furlong marker, took the lead outside the sixteenth-pole, fought with the winner in the final sixteenth and was denied while clear for the place. TWO OUT HERO was rated off the pace, raced without cover from the nine-sixteenths pole, ranged up while asked in the four path on the turn, made a bid near the quarter-pole, took a short lead under a drive inside the three-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage to the runner-up outside the sixteenth-pole and proved no match for the top two while able to get the show. ILLMATIC angled in while going to the front then showed the way on the inside of a rival, raced inside on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, lost the advantage under a drive in upper stretch, drifted out near the furlong marker and weakened. ATTFIELD tracked the pace between horses, made a bid near the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the two path on the turn, battle under a drive while remaining on his inside lead in upper stretch, was carried out near the furlong marker then brushed with a foe and tired. CAPANAPARO was hard held while rated off the pace, tossed his head some while rank just outside the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground while let out on the turn, was roused in the two path into the stretch and lacked the needed response. INTRICATE SPIRIT brushed with a foe just after the start, prompted the pace on the outside, tossed his head while under a strong hold nearing the five-eighths pole, was let out in the three path on the turn, dropped back into upper stretch and came up empty. HIGHWAYTOTHEMOON was well placed just off the pace, chased in the two path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the four path, dropped back in tight quarters near the three-sixteenths pole and had nothing left.
