KNICK'S HONOR broke well but ceded the front to NOW THEN, stalked that one in the two path down the backstretch, went into a drive to challenge for the lead at the top of the stretch, had some trouble with the lead change but got straightened out and held firm from rival challengers on either side to prevail. ELSTON GUNNN got away well and settled in a pocket along the rail, bided time without a clear path to the stretch, then responded to strong handling, finished well, but could not reel in the eventual winner. OUTLAW RUN went thrree wide through the clubhouse turn, tracked off the pace at the rear of the main pack to the far turn, continued the path through that turn, then made a strong late bid but came up short. NOW THEN made the lead into the first turn and attempted to set moderate fraactions. fought back when challenged approaching the stretch, but weakened in mid-stretch. PERFECT GAMBLE showed no early speed, settled far back while saving ground, made a mild late bid and managed to outfinish a couple of foes while still finishing far back. SHANKAPOTAMUS angled to the rail after the start, trailed far back throgh the early stages and was only able to pass one rival in the stretch. SCOTTISH STORM raced in the middle of the main pack for the first half, started to lose ground on the far turn and stopped in the stretch.
