SUSHI MAN was soon clear, was briefly encroached by LORD KNOWS from the outside near the five-eighths, shook clear again briefly, was then confronted by CATCH A WAVE to his inside near the half-mile mark, was unfazed and soon slipped clear of that foe, set a clear pace in the two path on the turn, and opened up on the field in the lane under a mild drive. BATTER UP was a bit rank early in last, continued a bit keen into the backstretch, took closer order down that straight, was pushed along inside near the five sixteenths and responded with a rally, was driven two wide in upper stretch, proved no match for SUSHI MAN into the lane but chased on with interest to the wire to prove a clear second best. FOUND JORDAN settled near the rear early, took closer order outside of BATTER UP down the backstretch, was urged in the two to three path on the far turn, dropped to the inside near the quarter, went to a drive along the rail into the lane, but was outfinished by BATTER UP in the final furlong and flattened late. CATCH A WAVE tracked the pace while saving ground, made a bid inside of SUSHI MAN near the half mile mark, switched off the inside near the seven sixteenths after being rebuffed by SUSHI MAN, was pushed along between horses on the far turn, began to lose ground from the quarter, came three wide into the lane and flattened. LORD KNOWS broke well but was put under a hold to track SUSHI MAN as that one galloped to the lead, raced two wide into the first turn, edged forward to briefly engage outside SUSHI MAN near the five eighths, was soon rebuffed and relegated to tracking again, was pushed along outside CATCH A WAVE and BATTER uP on the far turn, swung four wide into the lane, and had no rally.
