Footnotes
MONGOLIAN CHAMP was away well and raced close up two-wide early on, was always traveling well, moved up and took over the lead with little resistance midway through the turn, brushed off a mild bid from THIRSTY VISION in upper stretch, and drew clear in the last furlong. THIRSTY VISION tracked close to the pace racing in the two-path, tried to kick on with the eventual winner from the quarter pole but proved no match, kept on clear of the rest to be second best. FACENDA seized a clear early advantage on the clubhouse turn, led the way down the backstretch under moderate pressure, gave way readily when challenged midway through the turn, then finished evenly to save third. QUEBRANCHO took back after the start and moved over to the rail before the first turn, trailed well behind the rest through the early stages, kept to the inside to the stretch, lacked a rally. ARROMAX was allowed to settle after the start, went out to the three-path on the first turn and moved up to put pressure on the leaders, was having to be coaxed along after passing the half-mile pole, then flattened out on the far turn and was uninvolved in the late stages.
