SIR EXTON raced between horses in the second flight, never far from the front, was without a clear path from the backstretch run through the far turn, came out four-wide into the stretch, responded when put to strong handling and intermittent urging, and was along in time to claim the top prize. LITTLE TROUBLE was the inside horse of the trio tracking close up to the two leaders, slipped through an opening along the rail turning for home to take the lead, opened up in the stretch, but got a little short in the final yards and yielded to the winner in the final yards. MR. WHO dueled to the outside of TOWNER TOO, put a head in front leaving the three-furlong pole, but could not sustain the bid and flattened out in the stretch. TOWNER TOO dueled inside of MR. WHO, through moderate fractions through the early stages, battled back as the pace quickened approaching the quarter pole, but weakened a bit in the stretch. SHEPHERD tracked three-wide in the second flight but came up empty when the pace quickened late.
