Footnotes
BODENHEIMER , off slowly when having his head turned as the gates sprung, regrouped and edged up behind the trio of leaders into the turn, was deftly handled staying off of an inner rival near the five sixteenths, worked between runners under a hustling ride soon into the stretch, shifted out some, rolled up from the outside to engage an embattled inner pair, took over near the sixteenth pole and edged clear under a steady hand ride. IT'S BOBS BUSINESS moved up and bid between rivals early to contest the pace, gained a short lead leaving the far turn, emerged in a duel outside VERACRUZ nearing the lane, carried that battle past mid stretch, failed to deny the outer winner but kept on well to the wire. VERACRUZ rushed up soon after the break and gained a slim lead, secured the inside and sparred with a pair of outer foes, stayed on under strong urging past the five sixteenths, failed to go on with the top pair approaching the sixteenth pole and weakened. AERO STAR , inside and off the pace, was urged along chasing mid turn, angled out in the drive but failed to generate a serious run. KID GOT RHYTHM , with the pace three deep, drifted out a bit while coaxed along nearing the lane, straightened and faltered in mid stretch.
