LORD KNOWS raced a bit keenly early, chased inside around the first turn, settled at the rear of the main field down the backstretch, raced in the two path on the far turn, swung five wide into upper stretch for room, rallied under a drive and got up outside foes inside the final sixteenth. BATTER UP settled near the rear, raced two wide into the backstretch at the rear of the main pack, improved in the three path on the far turn, swung four wide into the lane, rallied between horses under a drive but was outkicked by LORD KNOWS to his outside. HAUNTED HAZE chased two wide on the first turn, was keen to take closer order down the back straight, improved into the far turn and loomed three wide near the three eighths, battled to the lead approaching the furlong mark, but was engaged by BATTER UP and LORD KNOWS shortly thereafter and could not hold them off in the final sixteenth. MENDELSSOHN JOY chased well behind the leading pair, took closer order down the back straight, chased in the three path on the far turn while racing midpack, was driven in the lane, and chased on mildly to prove best of the rest. BANG A RANG was put on the lead, was engaged in earnest past the half mile by HOT LEGS ROMOLO, was headed near the three eighths but continued to battle on inside foes until just outside the eighth pole, and flattened inside. HOT LEGS ROMOLO tracked the leader while well clear of the rest of the pack early, engaged the pacesetter approaching the half-mile mark, dueled outside that foe around the turn and into upper stretch, but came up empty between horses from the three sixteenths. LEMON SOHN settled at the rear, continually lost ground, trailed in the two path on the far turn and was never involved.
