Footnotes
SUMMER WINNER saved ground on the lead, was engaged from the outside by NANCY'S SHAWL near the quarter pole, dueled with that foe in upper stretch and briefly lost the lead, drifted out slightly to graze with that foe, continued to battle on and finished narrowly the better of the two. NANCY'S SHAWL broke sharply, raced keenly into the first turn, joined the tracking flight three wide around the first turn, settled back to chase three wide down the back straight, improved three wide around the far turn, engaged outside SUMMER WINNER approaching the quarter pole, floated out into the six path in upper stretch but was able to dueled outside that foe to midstretch and briefly put her head in front, drifted inward midstretch and grazed with SUMMER WINNER, but was narrowly outfinished by that foe. HEAVENLY CAPTIVE raced at the inside of the tracking flight around the first turn, chased inside into the back straight, tracked in range inside while saving ground around the far turn, was driven inside into the lane, could not reel in the top two but chased on for the show. KAITSKATE raced between horses in the tracking flight on the first turn, tracked between horses down the back straight and continued in range two wide on the far turn, drifted out into upper stretch and was outkicked by the leading trio, and chased on mildly. FLATTER ME BILLY broke last, raced at the inside of the rear flight around the first turn, continued toward the rear inside PROMISES down the back straight, was pushed along while saving ground around the turn, swung out to the six path in upper stretch and drifted out a few more paths, and lacked the needed finish. PRIVATE SPEAKER raced three wide in the rear flight through the first turn and into the back straight, was relegated to the rear alone from the five eighths, was urged in the three to four path on the far turn, drifted out in the lane and had no rally. PROMISES acted up behind the gate and was loaded without a rider, broke outward, raced at the rear between horses early, was near the rear outside FLATTER ME BILLY down the back straight, chased toward the rear around the far turn while racing in the three to four path, swung out to the seven to eight path under a drive into the lane and came up empty.
