Footnotes
LIEUTENANT CHARM settled at the rear around the first turn, raced four wide on the back straight, began to improve from the half, made a circling five-wide rally on the far turn, bore down outside of LOCO POR SER LIBRE and ENGLISH ICON in upper stretch, cleared through midstretch, and held on. LOCO POR SER LIBRE chased three wide on the first turn and midfield down the backstretch, was sent to rally between horses near the three eighths, engaged outside of ENGLISH ICON near the quarter, had no answer for LIEUTENANT CHARM in upper stretch and looked to be weakening but was able to find a late re-rally to overtake ENGLISH ICON narrowly for place. ENGLISH ICON tracked two wide around the first turn, tracked inside of DAYS IN DUBLIN down the back straight, engaged outside of THIRTYNINE TIMBERS near the three eighths and took the lead, was engaged by LOCO POR SER LIBRE to his outside near the quarter pole, fought back inside that foe through upper and middle stretch as LIEUTENANT CHARM passed to their outside, gained on the winner late but was nonetheless outfinished for the place. OLD TALBOTT raced four wide toward the rear into the first turn, continued three wide toward the rear between horses on the backstretch, raced in the four path on the far turn, swung six wide into the lane and ran on belatedly. DAYS IN DUBLIN (IRE) was off well inside and keen, led through the first turn, drifted out a few paths and let THIRTYNINE TIMBERS through to the lead inside of him near the five eighths, was relegated to track outside of ENGLISH ICON on the back straight, continued to race in range four wide around the far turn, swung five wide into the lane, proved no match for the leading group and chased on mildly. SHANGHAI CUPID settled near the rear inside of LIEUTENANT CHARM, took closer order in tandem with that foe into the backstretch, raced near the rear in the two path on the far turn, was hard driven into the lane but ultimately lacked the needed rally. ROAD RULES chased midpack around the first turn, continued midpack inside until the nine sixteenths, began to drop back from there, saved ground around the far turn and was pushed along, swung four wide into the lane and passed a tiring horse. THIRTYNINE TIMBERS was keen between horses into the first turn, tracked the pace inside of ENGLISH ICON on the first turn, got up inside of DAYS IN DUBLIN to take the lead into the backstretch, was engaged by ENGLISH ICON to his outside near the three eighths, and weakened inside when headed.
