CORPORATE POWER contended four wide, dropped off of the leaders on the backstretch, moved up again between foes on the second turn, bumped with SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING near the three-sixteenths pole, bumped again with that one a furlong out, drifted in through the final sixteenth and bumped SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING again nearing the wire, battled on and was fully extended to narrowly prevail. SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING settled in hand, tucked in some to save ground, took closer order through the second turn, angled out entering the stretch, bumped with CORPORATE POWER in the upper stretch, kicked on well, bumped again with the winner near the furlong marker, was floated in through the drive, was bumped again near the wire and just missed. BAEZA was restless in the gate, hesitated and lunged at the start to get away well behind his field, came under a ride inside the half mile marker and began to work his way into contention, circled into the stretch six wide, finished valiantly despite the compromised start. EAST AVENUE bumped while in tight into the first turn, altered out to be clear and prompted the pace outside through the upper stretch and tired. NU WHAT'S NEW sped to the fore, set the pressured pace toward the inside through the second turn and faded. GRANDE bumped into the first turn, tugged and was hard to settle, leveled into stride on the backstretch, came up empty on the second turn and retreated. TAPPAN STREET saved ground to no avail. The Stewards conducted an inquiry into the start, following the review there was no change to the order of finish. The jockey of SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING lodged an objection against CORPORATE POWER for alleged interference through the stretch run, but following the review the Stewards made no change to the order of finish.
