AIR OF DEFIANCE vied for the lead with an outer rival while remaining a path off of the inside around the turn, shook free in the three path in upper stretch, drove clear and held sway. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE stalked the embattled leading pair from the four path, moved out to the five to six path in upper stretch and ran to claim place at the sixteenth pole. UPTURNED BRIM vied for the lead outside of the eventual winner while kept in the three path, failed to keep pace with that one while leaning out to the five path in upper stretch then yielded place to an outer foe at the sixteenth pole. NATION broke out and steadied when corrected with a strong left rein, trailed in the five path and got outrun.
