Footnotes
CULTURE WAR pursued from midpack two wide, then between horses approaching and around the far turn, shifted out to the five path in upper stretch, rallied to gain control at the furlong grounds and drove clear. TIMESTREAM had a hind heel clipped by a rival in the opening stages, settled in the two path, shifted out to the six path in upper stretch and rallied to gain place late. POWER OF WILL set the pace along the inside, met an outer challenge around the far turn, fended off that foe before getting outkicked by a wider bidder in midstretch, kept on but lost place late. WEST OF EAST TEXAS was bumped by an outer foe at the start, pressed two wide, chased along the inside around the far turn, lacked room for rail progress in upper stretch then sustained pursuit mildly thereafter. BOTH SIDES OF BAD broke a step slow, lacked speed along the inside, pursued in the six to five path in upper stretch then moved up between horses. HILL COUNTRY settled in the three to four path, chased three wide around the far turn, floated out to the seven path in upper stretch then moved up late. THESPIAN clipped an inner rival's hind heel and bobbled shortly after the start, laid well back in the three path, launched a four wide move with a half mile to go, offered a bid outside of the leader around the far turn, vied before getting outkicked by an outer challenger reaching midstretch then faded between horses. CHAMPAGNE LIBERAL saved ground in pursuit but failed to factor. BARRACKS tracked along the inside, chased in the two to three path and between horses in upper stretch then gave way. HAPPY PRINCE brushed the gate upon leaving it, stalked three wide, got outkicked while chasing in the four path in upper stretch then weakened between horses. FLY GUY MICK bumped an inner foe at the start, took back between horses while rank shortly after, pulled up at the rear around the first turn and was transported off of the track via an equine ambulance.
