Footnotes
VINO DOMINUS set the pace along the inside, enjoyed a clear advantage while well in hand around the turn, responded when set down in upper stretch and held sway. TIMS brushed with an outer foe at the start, stalked from the four path, took aim on the clear leader from the three path turning for home, inched closer to offer a mild challenge reaching the lane, but proved no match shortly after and was second best. WHATEVER brushed with an inner rival at the start, tracked from the three to two path then chased evenly through the lane. PAIRED lacked speed in the five to three path into the turn, shifted back to the five path entering the lane and moved up willinlgy. SPRING ST. DREAMER chased two wide and between horses down the backstretch then failed to menace. MOUNTAIN GRANDEUR raced off of the pace in the four path, pursued two wide and between horses into the final furlong then failed to factor. PUNKIN BOY bumped with a troubled inner rival at the start and was off slow, raced at the rear along the inside, then in the two path around the turn and made little impact along the inside. BIG NELSON tracked along the inside but weakened into the turn and was done early. CHASING GRAY pressed the leader from the three path early on, but faded around the turn then faltered between horses. CARSON stumbled, bumped with an outer rival, and dislodged his rider at the start. A STEWARDS' INQUIRY REVIEWING THE START RESULTED IN NO CHANGE TO THE ORIGINAL ORDER OF FINISH.
