VERIFIRE vied for the lead with an outer rival, got headed by that one entering the lane, fought on to sustain the battle, re-forged an advantage in midstretch then clung to it thereafter. TOUGH CATCH vied for the lead with an inner rival while kept in the three path around the turn, led briefly entering the lane, but moved out to the four path in upper stretch, maintained the long duel after relinquishing an advantage in midstretch but was fended off late. MACHO MUSIC brushed with an outer foe at the start, stalked from the four to two path into the turn, ran on in pursuit of the top pair in the final furlong but proved no match and held show. BOURBON BASH laid off of the pace in the three path, tucked to the two path in upper stretch then stayed on and held show late. TRACK MATE broke slowly, trailed in the two path, swung out six to seven wide in upper stretch and ran on mildly to miss show. FURIO was brushed on both sides at the start, stalked from the five to three path into the turn then gave way through the lane. CHAMPLIN brushed with an inner foe at the start, tucked to the two path while midpack into the turn, moved out to the three to four path shortly after, chased in the five path into the lane and tired. PINFIRE saved ground in midpack then gave way. TOUCH OF DESTINY (URU) lacked speed in the four path and made little impact.
