Footnotes
SHAPE NOTE prompted outside of the leader and from the three path, sparred with that one through upper stretch, prolonged the battle while forging even terms in the final furlong, wrested a narrow advantage entering the final sixteenth and held. TURN UP THE TREES was brushed by an inner rival leaving the gate, drifted out and squarely bumped an outer foe in the aftermath, led narrowly from an outer prompter into and around the turn, battled with that once while clinging to an advantage into the final furlong, fought on gamely once headed at the sixteenth pole but failed to regain level terms. BUSK broke outwardly, brushed a rival and was corrected by a hard left hand rein, prompted inside of the leader before being wrangled back with nine sixteenths to go, stalked the embattled leading pair from the three to five path into the lane, chased while lacking progress through upper stretch yet ran on well to belatedly close the gap in the late stages. MINE OWN STAR was bumped by an inner rival into an outer foe and put to crowded quarters between horses soon after the start, raced at the rear along the inside into the turn improved turning for home but failed to reach contention. READY TO ROLL was bumped by an inner foe soon after the start, raced off of the pace in the three path, retreated to trail at the five sixteenths pole and was outrun thereafter.
