Footnotes
PLAY THE TRUMPET vied three wide, then two wide while remaining in the three path approaching the turn, led turning for home, drew clear entering the lane and held sway under a drive. FURIOUS ANGER dropped back between rivals early on, trailed in the three path around the turn, swung out to the seven path into the lane and rallied to gain place leaving the sixteenth pole. LUNAR MODULE lacked speed along the inside, shifted out to the five path in upper stretch, rallied between horses to bid for place along with an outer rival at the sixteenth pole but got outkicked. BOLT AT MIDNIGHT vied for the lead inside of a pair of rivals early on, then only inside of the eventual winner while remaining a path off of the inner rail around the turn, proved no match for that one reaching the lane, altered out while chasing in upper stretch but yielded place to an outer pair at the sixteenth pole. MACRON tracked the top pair from teh four path around the turn, chased in upper stretch, got outkicked by an outer pair in the final furlong and lacked a bid. OUTLIER raced off of the pace in the two path, spun in to the lane in the six path and between horses then failed to factor. HOCUS prompted between the leading pair briefly, failed to sustain pressure with nine sixteenths to go, chased along the inside around the turn and faded.
