Footnotes
TRAIN AND TRUST moved forward into the first turn to press the pacesetter from outside, prompted the tempo up the backstretch, took a narrow lead nearing the three-eighths, put away the inside rival at that juncture and then faced outside challengers, was ridden along while headed at the quarter pole, brushed by the leader in upper stretch, fought back gamely inside dueling through deep stretch to post a narrow advantage down to the wire. PROMISSIONE bumped a rival at the start, stalked from outside three to four wide early, advanced four to five deep on the far turn taking a narrow lead past the quarter pole, lugged in a bit in upper stretch bumping the inside rival, dueled with that one and was ultimately denied. ROMANTIC LEAD was bumped and squeezed back at the start, angled in early racing two to three deep into the first turn, made a steady advance between foes near the half reaching striking distance in behind the leaders, waited behind those, could not kick on with the top pair but secured show honors. ENOUGH ALREADY broke a step slowly, settled inside at the rear, saved ground both turns, came out several paths in the stretch and improved position. SHORTSTOP exchanged a bump at the start, stalked in behind the leading pair from off the inside early, moved three to four wide into the far turn, contended between runners on that bend, lacked the needed late kick. GUN IT AND RUN IT exchanged a bump at the start but was quick to take the lead, set a pressured pace inside, was overtaken on the far turn, weakened in the stretch. CHANCES TAKEN settled mid-pack saving ground on or just off the rail, came out five wide turning for home, failed to rally. GREATDAYFORHOCKEY was outside off the pace racing mostly four wide through both turns and never near enough to threaten. GHOST PRINCE was at the rear racing mostly three wide, came out seven deep in upper stretch, failed to produce a bid.
