Footnotes
SHAPE NOTE broke outwardly bumping a rival, settled off the pace in the back half but near mid-division, saved ground on the turn, tipped out a few paths leaving that bend, shifted in once in mid-stretch, rallied up the rail to get up. FINAL VERDICT was encouraged forward pressing the pacesetter from outside, lost minor ground early on the turn then came again late on that bend, struck a narrow lead near the three-sixteenths, battled a stubborn foe, edged just clear at the sixteenth pole but was caught late. HIGH FRONT tucked in stalking in behind the leading groups, advanced four wide on the turn, drifted out a bit in the lane, kept on late. BAD BEAT BRIAN settled off the pace shifting in two to three wide up the backstretch and through the turn, swung out seven wide, finished strongly but too late. FROSTY VIEW went quickly to the front, set the pace under pressure, edged just clear briefly on the turn but faced that challenger again soon after, weakened in the stretch. CHISELER was lightly bumped into a rival at the start, settled toward the rear inside, saved ground on the turn, swung out six to seven wide leaving that bend, angled out a couple paths in upper stretch seeking a clear path, gained late. SPOKE broke inwardly, chased inside, saved ground on the turn, failed to rally. ALL JOKES ASIDE moved forward shifting in, chased the leading pair three wide, faltered in the stretch. CHIRINGO settled inside at the rear, swung five to six wide turning for home, passed tired rivals. MR. MELO lacked early speed racing outside at the rear into and on the turn, swung ten wide into upper stretch, was never near enough to threaten. PINFIRE was lightly bumped at the start, moved forward chasing between foes in the second flight early, faded in the stretch. CHROMED IMPULSE was outpaced early racing toward the rear, went four to five wide on the turn swinging out nine wide for the stretch run, was not a factor.
