PROTECTIVE raced close up in the four path, vied into and around the turn, got outmoved by an inner foe nearing the five sixteenths pole, then got outkicked by an outer rival while floating to the five path into the lane, yet kept on willingly into the final furlong but needed more to reclaim show. GUARDIAN laid off of the pace in the two path, then in the three to four path around the turn, fanned out to the seven path into upper stretch and offered a mild kick without reaching contention. FARLEY HALL showed the way in the two path, but got headed between bidders turning for home and faded. PATTON'S TIZZY broke through the gate pre-race, pressed in the three path and between horses, vied among foes around the turn, got outkicked by an inner rival turning for home, spun to the four path into the lane and faded.
