Footnotes
CAPITAL IDEA tracked in the four path, tucked behind foes and to the two path into the far turn, tipped three wide turning for home before fanning to the five path entering the lane, then sustained gradual progress to bid outside of the leader in the final sixteenth and forged an advantage in the shadow of the wire. PRINCE OF POWER showed the way a bit off of the inside, built a loose advantage approaching the backstretch, maintained a clear margin while remaining in hand around the far turn, held sway while moving to the three path in midstretch, but was collared by an outer bidder in the final sixteenth and got nailed. CATCHING FREEDOM tracked while tucking down to the inside around the first turn, pursued the clear leader around the far turn, tipped to the three to four path to take aim outside of that on in upper stretch, but only managed to chase before getting outkicked by an outer foe for place in midstretch, then held show. BEST ACTOR checked subtly as an outer rival shifted across his path around the first turn, saved ground while trailing, advanced inside of rivals in upper stretch, chased through the final furlong and was denied show. MACKMAN laid off of the pace in the four to three path, got floated back to the four path around the far turn before fanning out to the six path into the lane, and failed to factor. JAYHAWK stalked the clear leader from the three path down the backstretch, chased two wide rounding the far turn, then weakened between horses once floated to the four path into the lane and was eased through the final furlong.
