PATTY VAN TWINKLE tracked along the inside, then two wide turning for home, loomed a danger following the leaders nearing the lane, tipped to the six path to take aim outside of them entering it, progressed to bid in the seven path shortly after, dueled into the final furlong, forged an advantage at the sixteenth pole, sparred with an inner persistent counterpart through the closing stages and held. PROMISES TO DANCE prompted two wide, led in the three path as an outer foe offered a bid reaching the five sixteenths pole, battled with that drifting rival and a wider challenger in upper stretch, fought on gamely while headed in the final furlong, tenaciously sustained the duel in the closing stages but was staved off. ALWAYS ANGELS stalked three wide, bid in the four path turning for home, dueled with an inner foe while moving to the five path in upper stretch, forged a narrowly advantage as an outer foe joined the battle in upper stretch, drifted out slightly while battling between horses in midstretch and yielded in the final sixteenth. ARGAN set a pressured pace along the inside, got headed by an outer pair reaching the five sixteenths pole and faded.
