CONQUERTHOSEWECAN was a bit fractious in the gate, soon led, set the pace from off the rail, floated out a bit leaving the turn, drifted in bumping a rival lightly past the furlong marker, continued to exchange minor contact with that one in a duel to the wire, dug in to prevail. SPORTING LADY got away well but was outsprinted, tracked inside, cut the corner, bid up the rail in mid-stretch, was bumped then came out and exchanged more bumps dueling through late stretch, was outfinished. ROMAN GRACE stalked from outside, was encouraged about the seven-sixteenths going four to five wide on the turn, proved no match for the top pair but secured show honors. SHKHARA FIRE lacked early speed bringing up the rear, swung seven to eight wide for the drive, ran on mildly. CARMELINA pressed the eventual winner three wide, weakened. MILA CANDY tracked the leaders from between runners, faded. FOLLOWING AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF SPORTING LADY AGAINST CONQUERTHOSEWECAN ALLEGING INTERFERENCE NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
