Footnotes
AS THE BELL TOLES veered at the out start, gained the early lead, edged clear on the turn and held well in the stretch under steady pressure. ITHADTOBEBLU off slowly, saved ground, advanced on the turn, moved off the rail for the stretch run, responded willingly, was angled in late but could not get to the top one. VINO BELLA outpaced five wide, was urged on the turn, went three wide for the stretch run and failed to respond. ENTITLED DEFENSE was forwardly placed along the inside and dropped back approaching the half mile pole. MILLE MCCALL swerved out at the start, was void of speed and did not factor. MEREDITHSLIGHTNING chased the pacesetter while four wide, raced between foes on the turn and faded in the stretch.
