EZUM assumed command early, forged well clear into the stretch and drew off readily under intermittent hand urging. NAABAAHII ducked in at the start, was reserved while three wide and stayed while three wide in the stretch to secure the place spot. SIR GEORGE raced in striking position while three wide, was urged on the turn and gave no response. VIRGINIA GENTRY saved ground, was maneuvered off the rail on the turn and had no rally. STILL SOBER awkward at the start, broke sideways and was declared a non-starter after the stewards determined that the assistant starter hindered him when the gates opened. BEALE STREET BOY raced forwardly along the inside, remained inside for the stretch run and did not factor. MR. HINX leaned in at the start, was checked soon after, pulled his way forward while four wide under restraint and weakened from his early exertions in the stretch. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY FOCUSING ON THE START. AFTER REVIEWING VIDEOTAPED REPLAYS, THEY DECLARED STILL SOBER A NON-STARTER.
