Footnotes
BE BETTER pressed the early pace in between rivals, then went up to duel for command two wide entering the turn, then was sent down and had a long stretch drive and edged clear to prove best. WHITE SERIES set a pressured pace and then dueled on the inside and had a long drive but was out-kicked late and had to settle for being second best, good effort. FORREST CITY stalked the pace from the outside and was four wide on the turn but lacked the needed winning bid while besting the rest. AZTEC tracked the pace on the inside and saved ground throughout but had no punch in the drive while racing evenly. BIGTONTEN tracked the pace and was in between rivals on the turn but faded in the final furlong. CUT THE CORD was settled early and raced on the inside to the two path on the turn while under coaxing, angled out in the lane and had no rally while finishing willingly. NOBLE GENTLEMAN prompted the pace three wide, five wide by the quarter pole and tired. AL AMEEQ showed brief speed to chase the pace for a furlong and a half and then fell back on the inside and was not a factor.
