Footnotes
CADET CORPS bobbled at the break, recovered to race in the second group outside, three wide into the turn, advanced closest to the runner up while in the four path late in the bend, challenged on the outside in midstretch, kicked clear under steady handling. FREEDOM PRINCIPLE away in good order, contested the pace on the outside and three wide in the long run up the backstretch, shook clear midway on the turn, continued to show the way into the lane, briefly offered resistance to the winner past the furlong marker then proved no match, comfortably clear of the others. GROVELAND broke out, allowed to settle in the second flight while along the inside under firm restraint, cut the corner to improve into the lane, proved no match for the top two in the run to the wire, clear of the rest. JUST A FAIR SHAKE bothered slightly start when GROVELAND broke out, settled in the second group for a half while between horses, fell back in the run through the turn, steered out to be widest in the five path into the lane, went evenly to the wire. NOGRADI back off the pace in the two path, moved out in some traffic to be four wide into the lane, improved with some mild, belated interest down the middle of the strip. MAJORCA with the lead pack out of the chute, continued to vie while between horses and inside the runner up into the bend, came four wide for the drive, weakened. BAYTOWN BRUISER away well, set or forced the pace four four furlongs along the inside and began to weaken, continued to fade through the stretch. AMERICAN LAW remained always back while racing off the inside.
