Footnotes
PHIL'S PRINCE was settled back early and raced on the outside down the backside while advancing nearing the half mile marker, then mad a three wide move on the far turn and came four wide off the bend and closed well to get up in the final thirty yards to prove best under a drive. MESSAGE OF HOPE (IRE) set the early pace and then vied for the lead on the inside of rivals leaving the five furlong peg to the nine sixteenths, then set a pressured pace on the far turn before making a bid to draw away leaving the turn and then was tiring late and was caught late to just fail while clearly second best. SALMING was settled back early and came six wide into the lane and had a late rally to gain the show award. JUST BERNIE prompted the early pace three wide on the first turn, then went up to vie for command between rivals by the five furlong marker and then pressed the pace on the far turn and weakened in the lane. KAUAI BREEZE was reserved early three four wide and came five wide into the lane but had no rally. THEN WHAT was allowed to settle early on the inside, advanced on the inside to the two path on the far turn and came three wide off the bend but flattened out in the drive. GRAND KINGDOM stalked the pace on the outside on the first turn, then went up to press the pace from the outside down the backside and was four wide on the far turn while dropping back and tired. HARBE was four wide into the first turn and chased the pace four to three wide and tired. BLACK EMPIRE was settled early two wide and went bad by the three eighths marker and was pulled up on the far turn, loaded on to the equine ambulance for further evaluation.
