CPTBOBSBTWENTYNINE devoid of any early foot, continued to lag in the run up the backstretch and into the far turn, began to advance late in the bend, cut the corner jto better his position into the straight, continued to rally up the rail and was up in the final strdies. EAST VILLAGE behind the pace while along the inside, continued to save ground second turn, moved out and collared the pacesetter when straightened for home, continued to hold the advantage while lugging out, then lugged back in with less than a furlong remaining, caught in the final strides while finishing up just outside the winner. CHINGU off a beat slow, saved ground first turn, continued to save some ground when moving closer in the second bend, came three wide for the drive then went flat the final furlong. TIMEFRAME forward early, allowed the pace to go, came three out to four wide for the drive, improved slightly with some modest late intereest. BEEKMAN STREET in mid pack while racing off the inside, bettered his position in the three path the middle half mile, came four wide for the drive and flattened out through the lane. GAMBLIN GEORGE closest to the quick set of early fractions, three wide into the lane, had little left for the run to the wire. CAFE LA PAIX (FR) took command past the wire the first time along the inside, opened up daylight through a quick opening quarter, extended that advantage through an equally quick half mild, saw that advantage start to shrink midway on the final turn, caved in when headed by the runner up in upper stretch. UFO (PER) off a step slow, raced back toward the inside, in the two path when asked along into the lane, failed to muster a closing response. STARSHIP MAGELLAN remained back throughout and made little impact. SMOOTH AN EASY trailed most of the way and was also not a factor. BEYOND REPROACH off the pace out in the course, four wide through the first turn, finished after a half.
