Footnotes
CANDY ROCKETTE off a step slow, raced back off the pace and the inside, moved a bit closer while still off the rail second turn, dropped inside for the drive and rallied strongly up the rail to win going away. PRETTY RIBBON (IRE) took command after the start, rated while setting a soft set of fractions toward the inside early, quickened a bit the third quarter and continued to hold the advantage into the lane, allowed the winner the inside with a furlong to run, proved no match for that one while proving stubborn for the place. TELL ME SOME LIES settled off the pace while in hand and toward the inside, moved closer in the three path far turn, came four wide for the drive, lacked a winning closing kick, narrowly missed the runner up spot while remaining widest of the second group at the wire. SCREEN TEST tracked the leader from along the inside, continued forwardly and inside second turn when covered up in some traffic, moved out a bit and lodged a bid between foes midstretch, stalled a bit late to miss the second spot while still between horses. TIZ THE LADY bumped and then bobbled at the start to be last away, lacked speed, failed to mount a serious kick when called for in upper stretch. ETAWA (IRE) prompted the runner up from the outside through those modest fractions and gave way. HAY GRACE BRENNAN broke out, bumped TIZ THE LADY, was finished early.
