PREDOMINATE settled off the pace while in hand, continued unhurried through three turns, began a steady advance with four furlongs remaining, collared the leader in upper straight and kicked well clear. IN EFFECT raced with the winner inside that one, followed that one toward the front after the final hurdle, lost contact with that rival when straightened for home, clearly second best. DOCTOR LOVE (FR) keen early when closest to the leader, took over after a mile, well clear, continued to show the way final turn, offered little resistance to the top pair through the lane, saved the show. GRATIA PRINCE went one paced throughout in lacking a closing response through the stretch. ARTURO TOSCANINI (IRE) raced back off the pace and behind the two leaders, continued back into the final bend, improved position to the wire without posing a serious threat. ROD N REEL void of any early foot near the back of the field early, remained back, bettered position by picking off a couple of tiring rivals, also never seriously contended. WILMA FLINTSHIRE void of speed, continued to seem them all after a mile and six furlongs, also passed faltering foes. PHILIP MY DEAR took command soon after the start, showed the way for over a mile, relinquished the advantage then chased the next seven furlongs, gave way through the stretch. VERBAL last to leave, void of any early speed, was never involved in remaining back. ORDERS ANTHEM (IRE) closest to the two leaders early, fell back to mid pack after ten furlongs, bobbled over the final hurdle and gave way to trail home.
