BRINGER OF RAIN unhurried early while trailing the field, advanced swiftly on the far turn, and closed strongly to get up in time. SIR BREGOVIC dueled for the lead inside of FIRECRACKER STAND, briefly conceded position to save ground on the backstretch, re-engaged and regained command entering the stretch, but was caught late and outfinished nearing the wire. BARAK saved ground along the rail, and lacked the kick that was needed. FIRECRACKER STAND applied early pressure, edged ahead of SIR BREGOVIC nearing the turn, but weakened late. TOOL TIME saved, chased and failed to threaten in the drive. THESHACK lost path when leaving the chute, chased four wide leaving the backstretch, and faded. METAPHOR broke awkwardly, tracked three to four wide, and was outrun.
