Footnotes
KAUAI DAN had trouble finding running room into the backstretch, angled to the rail in the far turn, shifted out three wide at the top of the stretch, and wore down the leader in the final furlong. SAWASDEE bumped at the start, quickly sped to the front and drew off into the backstretch, but watched the margin shrink leaving the turn and was run down in the stretch. PIONEER STORM KING broke in, bumped inside rival, chased three to four wide in the backstretch, and closed late. HANK OLLIE was three to four wide into the opening turn, was wide in the final turn and flattened out. SILENT RUNNER unhurried early, raced in closest pursuit from the two to three path, and came up empty in the drive. INDIO MARA hit the gate before the break, reared leaving, settled off the rail, and was through early. TICKET TO THE TOP dismounted rider behind the gate, then loaded without the rider, hopped leaving, raced wide into the backstretch, and tired.
