DARE TO COMPARE was three wide into the opening turn, rallied three wide in the last turn, duelled inside of ABOVE AVERAGE, gained a slim advantage and held on. ABOVE AVERAGE lacked a clear path leaving, chased five wide through the backstretch, fanned four wide, then was headed into the stretch, duelled determinedly outside of DARE TO COMPARE and was outfinished. THRILL OF THE NITE broke inward leaving, vied outside for the early lead, led the way through the backstretch, and weakened in the stretch. QUALITY COMMAND stalked the pace while two wide, moved up alongside THRILL OF THE NITE to contest the lead, but came up empty in the drive. WHY NOTS A WYNNER settled off the pace while inside, and chased to no avail. H K MIMI was outrun throughout.
