ROSE OF TEXAS was outsprinted to the turn, overtook the lead entering the backstretch, showed the way under a snug hold, and kicked away when given the cue. H K MIMI tracked the pacesetters, launched an all out bid at the quarter pole, but was no match for the winner. SMOKIN JOY trailed early, and failed to threaten. STARFALL was quickest to the turn, sat just off the pace from along the rail, and was through early.
