WEDGE POND sat in striking position while three wide, overtook the lead at the head of the stretch and prevailed under a late drive. GLAVA steadied in traffic leaving the chute, waited inside for room, angled three wide and closed determinedly but fell short after a strong late rally. SMART LAD took hold leaving the first turn while saving ground along the rail, remained under a snug hold in traffic leaving the backstretch, dropped back briefly and closed gradually to secure third. DEAL EM was jostled between foes in the backstretch, fanned three wide in the far turn, chased and lacked a closing response. LEMON MERINGUE brushed leaving the gate, was six wide leaving the chute, tracked wide in the backstretch, and offered a late mild bid. TRAPEZE trailed the field early, and passed tiring rivals. TOOL TIME quickly went to the front, was joined at the quarter pole by WEDGE POND, and gave way in the stretch. PISCO lacked running room leaving the chute, was bumped in the backstretch and tired.
