COUNTER CAT fanned three wide into the first turn, stalked the pace through the backstretch, gained the lead nearing the quarter pole, and kicked away. ZIP IT WRIT was allowed to settle off the pace, was roused at the quarter pole but lacked a clear path then rallied for second place honours. WESTERN SUNSET tracked three to four wide, rallied through the stretch and missed. OUR SUNSHINE trailed early, and passed tiring rivals. FIRST INFANTRY failed to threaten. KIKIS LOVE OF LIFE set the pace under a snug hold, was overtaken and tired early.
