Footnotes
WE THE FRINGE contested the early pace into the backstretch, gained a short advantage, responded to a threat from DARE TO COMPARE late stretch, and held. DARE TO COMPARE crossed over quickly on the field, was outsprinted leaving the opening turn, stalked three wide, moved up menacingly into the stretch but was unable to get by. EYES OF BEAUTY trailed early while five wide, and closed late to earn show. KARDINAL ROSE rated off the pace while four wide, closed gradually and was bested for show. TONE IT UP rallied belatedly along the rail. DIPLOMATICA was checked leaving the first turn, then was under a strong hold, saved ground inside, and faded gradually. TRAINER OBJECTION- An objection was lodged by the trainer of DIPLOMATICA, alleging interference in the first turn against the rider of DARE TO COMPARE. After review by the Board of Stewards, the objection was disallowed, and no change was made to the order of finish.
