Footnotes
AVANA was allowed to settle in stride, then dropped back several lengths, advanced quickly leaving the backstretch, was patiently poised at the quarter pole, then sliced between rivals with a sharp move and unleashed an explosive kick into the stretch. BIG HUG rated off the pace while four wide, was widest on the final turn, came together with MATURITY DATE, and closed determinedly, finishing clearly second best. MATURITY DATE stalked the pace while four to five wide, was brushed at the head of the lane, and lacked the late kick that was needed. AIR FORCE stalked the early pacesetters, moved up alongside BLING DANCER to challenge the lead, and flattened out through the stretch. SILKSTONE saved ground under a snug hold, and lacked a response when called upon. KNOWING GLANCE reluctant to load, loaded without the rider, attended the pace inside of BLING DANCER, and was done early. BLING DANCER vied for the early lead, was joined by AIR FORCE in the far turn, and wilted abruptly into the stretch.
