AFFAIR prompted the pace three wide, took the lead approaching the quarter pole, yielded to ROSE OF TEXAS at the head of the stretch, battled on determinedly while matching strides inside, dug in gamely in the final stride, and prevailed narrowly. ROSE OF TEXAS stalked from the rail, angled three to four wide, took a slim advantage over AFFAIR, duelled determinedly and was outfinished. LICORICE hopped leaving the gate, was gapped, gained closer order in the final turn, and closed well. COUNT ON IT stalked the pace while three wide, and came up empty in the drive. QUALITY COMMAND stumbled away from the gate, set a pressured pace while four wide, and tired early.
