DETAIN (IRE) sat off the pace on the inside, moved up quickly in the middle stages, coaxed along chasing behind the leader on the far turn, bid between runners at the eighth pole and drove clear in deep stretch. CHARLIE'S TO BLAME dueled from outside to the five-sixteenths pole, lost touch with leader late on the bend, re-bid three deep at the eighth pole, got outkicked by the winner and was able to hold on for second. WAR AT SEA traveled in mid-pack from the two path, went two then three wide around the far turn, angled out in the drive, finished well but just missed the place. WATSONVILLE stalked the top pair from inside, two wide leaving the backstretch, lacked room when boxed in from the quarter pole to the top of the lane, tipped out into the clear, finished willingly and earned a minor award. MAN AMONG MEN reserved in the early going and steered to the inside, traveled in mid-pack in the middle stages, asked along the rail on the far turn, kept trying down the lane but needed to find more. MAAZ (FR) reserved in the opening stages and angled to the inside traveling at the back, gained in the two path on the far turn but had to steady when lacking room near the quarter pole, swung out turning for home and offered a mild rally. TEMPUS VOLAT stalked two wide in the early going, ridden three deep on the second bend, then flattened out in the stretch run. GAME WARRIOR raced in the two path near the back, chased along the rail then in the two path on the far turn, moved out in the lane but ran into mild traffic and could not rally once in the clear. SCIPIO settled towards the back of the pack and moved inside, trailed around the far turn, steered out in the lane and was never a factor. SARWAR (FR) dueled from inside, inched clear on the far turn, challenged by a pair of rivals at the eighth pole, yielded in midstretch and folded late. IRISH PROPHET laid off the pace in the two then three path, crept closer on the backstretch, rounded the far turn three then four wide, came five wide into the stretch and had little left for the drive.
