SUNK COST FALLACY got bumped and crowded leaving the gate, raced far back early, saved ground through the turn, angled out at the top of the lane then further out past the eighth pole, finished strong in the last sixteenth and overhauled the top pair for the score. DUKE OF ORLEANS also bumped and got crowded in the beginning, raced off the rail then between rivals off the pace, traveled two wide on the turn, steered out in the lane and closed well to earn second. HE'S GOT FIRE broke in and bumped, pressed the pace from outside, headed the leader at the quarter pole, carried a short lead into the stretch, clung to a narrow advantage at the sixteenth pole and yielded late. MY MAN JOE ROLDAN chased from off the rail, went four then three deep on the turn, angled out in upper stretch, rallied and challenged HE'S GOT FIRE into the final sixteenth and lacked the needed late punch. READYTOBOARD set the pace inside rivals up the backstretch, headed by HE'S GOT FIRE at the quarter pole, lost the lead turning for home, stayed on to the eighth pole, then weakened in the last sixteenth. SMOKEM AND LOVE bumped leaving the gate, chased from off the pace, ridden along the rail around the bend, cut the corner into the lane and failed to threaten. WICKED SPUD came in and bumped the winner, traveled outside a rival off the pace then three deep in the early going, spun five wide into the lane and passed tired rivals. HUNGOVER leaned back then broke in the air, trailed to the turn, passed a rival around the bend, came three wide into the stretch and passed some tired rivals in the lane. FIGHTING THUNDER pursued the leaders from inside, chased a bit off the rail into the lane and tired. MR AKIN vied three deep between foes early, failed to keep up and chased two then three wide on the turn and faded in the drive. TIGHT DALLY vied four deep in the early going, also could not match strides with the top pair, stayed off the rail through the turn, came four wide into the stretch and tired. THERE WAS AN INQUIRY INVOLVING DUKE OF ORLEANS, SUNK COST FALLACY AND WICKED SPUD. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE TRIO OF RIVALS DID NOT WARRANT A DISQUALIFICATION.
