VIRAT took a stalking position behind the top pair, patiently handled along the fence around the bend, bid between the leaders with a furlong remaining, fought head to head with BAD UNCLE BARRY into deep stretch and dug in to edge the runner-up. BAD UNCLE BARRY dueled from inside, inched ahead in upper stretch, fought with VIRAT with a sixteenth remaining and was outfinished in a game second. LONESOME STEW stalked the top pair from outside, bid four deep in the lane and could not summon the needed late kick. IRISH ROYALTY dueled outside BAD UNCLE BARRY up the backstretch and around the turn, fought between rivals at the eighth pole and weakened late. INCANTO (IRE) tracked the top pair outside a rival, crept closer on the turn but failed to respond when asked for more in the stretch. THE OLD NINE (IRE) settled inside, stayed on the fence to the stretch and lacked a rally. ARRAKIS followed in range four deep and weakened down the lane.
