STEAK FRIES took stalking position next to the fence, drafted behind the leader through the far turn, drew alongside TRUMP ERA midstretch and wore that rival down to earn the victory. TRUMP ERA was antsy in the gate, set the pace on the inside, took pressure from WARM SUN AND BREW at the quarter pole, turned that rival away into the stretch, led clear into the final furlong, met the bid from STEAK FRIES, dueled into deep stretch and yielded grudgingly in the end. WARM SUN AND BREW stalked in the two path, challenged TRUMP ERA at the quarter pole, got turned away into the lane, chased determinedly into the final furlong, then flattened out in the late stages but was able to hold on for third. CHROMEFLASH was antsy in the gate, tracked from the two path, moved inside briefly on the second bend then returned to the two path, angled out at the top of the stretch, kept trying in the lane and failed to get by WARM SUN AND BREW for third. KING OF DRAGONS unhurried from inside then moved into the two path racing at the back, made a move three deep on the far turn but flattened out in the stretch. HIGHPLAINSDRIFTER sat off the pace along the rail, saved ground to the stretch, moved out in the lane and failed to make an impact. DRUIDIC chased from off the pace and moved to the inside, asked three then two wide on the far turn, got floated out in upper stretch and weakened. KEEP DANCIN NICK traveled outside a rival off the pace then at the rear, continued two wide on the far turn and was never a factor.
