OFF IN THE CORNER tossed his head at the start to come away last, drew closer up the backstretch, snuck through along the rail to take over at the quarter pole, cleared outer pair leaving the bend , padded the lead in upper stretch and remained clear under hand urging. BLIKSEM got crowded shortly after the start, chased two wide leaving the backstretch, bid three deep at the quarter pole, could not keep up with the new leader late on the bend, chased four wide into the lane, finished willingly down the stretch and whittled the gap on the winner late. COSMIC CHARLIE dropped back on the inside, drew closer from the fence around the bend and gained third. OCEAN CLUB (IRE) chased the top pair from inside, inherited the lead briefly outside the quarter pole, relinquished the lead to winner coming up the inside shortly after and weakened in the lane. HIGH AMBITION dueled from outside up the backstretch, got bumped and forced wide by BROCKSTER on the turn, cut back in and chased the new leader three wide into the stretch and faded. BROCKSTER dueled inside HIGH AMBITION early, lugged out badly and bumped that rival on the turn, trailed three wide into the stretch and could not recover from the troubled run around the bend. THERE WAS AN INQUIRY INVOLVING BROCKSTER AND HIGH AMBITION ON THE RUN AROUND THE TURN. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT BROCKSTER DID BOTHER HIGH AMBITION BUT SINCE BROCKSTER FINISHED BEHIND HIGH AMBITION NO CHANGE WOULD BE MADE.
