INSHALLAH stepped to the front and crossed over once in the clear, opened up on the field around the turn, roused in upper stretch, carried a comfortable lead into the final furlong and held safely under hand urging to the wire. ICANTHELPMYSELF was closest in pursuit of the lone leader up the backstretch, fell out of range in the two path on the turn, finished well through the lane and closed the gap on the winner late. DOMENICI tracked the speed from out of range staying away from the rail, took the turn three then four wide and edged EMANCIPATE for third. EMANCIPATE bumped with ARTICULATION and checked early, chased from off the pace on the inside, saved ground to the stretch, showed some late interest but got outkicked for the show honors. ABSOLUTION came in a bit and bothered inner pair early, chased from inside off the pace, tipped out at the quarter pole, came three wide into the lane and weakened. ARTICULATION got put in tight, bumped with EMANCIPATE and checked early, traveled outside a rival toward the rear after, took the turn two then three wide and failed to menace. BID trailed two wide to the stretch and passed a tired rival. FEDERATION raced outside a pair of rivals near the back, rounded the bend three then four wide and could not make an impact. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INVOLVING EMANCIPATE, ARTICULATION AND ABSOLUTION EARLY IN THE RACE. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED ABSOLUTION FROM FIFTH TO SIXTH FOR COMING IN AND BOTHERING BOTH RIVALS, COSTING ARTICULATION A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
