Footnotes
GREEN ZONE tracked the speed from inside, crept closer from off the rail in the middle stages, moved into second on the far turn, took aim two wide turning for home, drew alongside the leader with a furlong remaining, fought on even terms into the last sixteenth and dug in late to edge rivals on both sides. SUNTORY TIME settled inside, gained three wide on the far turn, closed in entering deep stretch and finished gamely three deep to get up for second. LIL'S COFFEE stalked the speed outside a rival, confronted the leader nearing the half-mile pole, took over leaving the backstretch, cleared early on the far turn, challenged by GREEN ZONE at the eighth pole, resisted into deep stretch and yielded grudgingly late. ZARAFA unhurried in the early going and steered to the inside, started to move on the far turn but had to put the brakes on when lacking room outside the quarter pole while making light contact with the rail, tipped over to the two path and came under urging, kept trying down the lane and earned a minor award. BIRKIN GIRL tucked inside at the back, went outside a rival past the half-mile pole, had to pause behind a runner at the three-eighths pole, moved to the inside and started to pick up the pace, tipped out and came four wide into the stretch, kept on through the stretch but needed to find more. SUGAR REIGN traveled in mid-pack and steered to the two path, fell back to last on the far turn two then three wide, tipped out in the lane and passed tired rivals. ZIGGITY ZAG stalked along the rail, got shuffled back on the far turn, tipped out and came three wide into the lane, then lacked a rally. EIGHTIES showed good early speed to establish the front, took pressure at the half-mile pole, lost the lead leaving the backstretch, yielded to the new leader early on the far turn, started to weaken around the bend and tired.
