Footnotes
RED FLAG unhurried in the opening stages, picked up stride in the two path then along the rail on the turn, loomed from the fence turning for home, collared the leader at the eighth pole, took over shortly after and held FOR ALL MANKIND at bay. FOR ALL MANKIND showed brief speed then stalked the top trio to the turn, traveled in the two path then angled four wide around the bend, challenged four deep in upper stretch, dueled outside RED FLAG in deep stretch and got denied. CENTRAL DISPATCH showed the way inside a pair of rivals, maintained a short lead through the turn while moving to the two path, carried the lead into the final furlong, then got passed in midstretch and flattened late. TESSUTO pressed three deep early, continued to fight three wide on the turn, dueled into the stretch, stayed on to midstretch and weakened in the last sixteenth. GHOST OF MIDNIGHT chased from off the pace under coaxing, asked three, four, then five wide on the turn and flattened out. ZEUS' WAR traveled in the second flight outside rivals, drew closer four, five, then six wide on the turn but also flattened out in the furlong grounds. DEL MAR JERRY pressed the leader from between rivals to the quarter pole, could not stay with the top pair late on the bend, spun three wide into the lane and weakened. THIRTY TWO CHUNK coaxed along from off the pace and moved inside, dropped back to last on the turn, came off the rail in the lane and was no factor.
