KING OF GOSFORD (GB) stalked in the two path, picked up stride around the far turn, bid between rivals at the eighth pole, dug in to put a head in front late and held over DETAIN (IRE) in the closing moments. DETAIN (IRE) settled in mid-pack along the inside then moved to the two path, asked two then three wide on the far turn, moved out in the lane, closed in under left handed urging, rallied outside the top trio in deep stretch while drifting and just missed. EL POTENTE showed early speed then ceded command to CABO SPIRIT, stalked in hand up the backstretch, saved ground through the far turn, given his cue at the top of the lane, challenged inside a pair of rivals at the eighth pole, put a head in front with a sixteenth remaining but got outkicked by the top pair late. CABO SPIRIT fought briefly with EL POTENTE for the early lead then took control, controlled the pace to the far turn, remained clear around the bend, drifted into the lane, headed at the eighth pole, dug in while drifting out a bit more and yielded grudgingly. ASTRONOMER reserved along the inside, asked two wide on the far turn, chased within range down the stretch but failed to summon the needed response. ARTISLAS angled to the inside racing towards the rear, navigated the far turn two then three wide, angled out in the stretch and showed a mild response to improve position. FREEDOM'S NOT FREE took a stalking position on the inside, lost a bit of ground on the far turn, cut the corner into the stretch and failed to answer the call. TWIRLING POINT unhurried in the opening stages and moved to the rail, drew closer on the backstretch, coaxed along on the far turn, tipped out and asked for more at the top of the lane but could not rally. ALMENDARES (GB) broke a step slow, tucked inside at the back of the pack, went outside a rival at the quarter pole, steered out in the lane and was never a factor. SINSEL (BRZ) broke a step slow and lost his path at the start, pulled and became rank in the early stages, rounded the far turn in the two path and failed to menace. SEAL TEAM (GB) reserved in the early going next to the rail near the back, ran up on heels and took up past the five-sixteenths pole, continued along the rail to the stretch and could not make an impact.
